Social Media Marketing

It’s not a secret that social media has impacted our daily lives immensely. It’s how many of us start our day, and often how we end it. It’s changed how we communicate with people, how we get our daily news, how we shop and even how we learn. Based on a survey performed by Facebook, it’s even powerful enough to change our mood! Needless to say, it’s a major part of our daily lives and it’s not going away.

As a twenty-something year old and a recent college grad, social media has been engrained into my system. It’s happened far too many times that I’ve had multiple social media sites open on my computer only to find myself simultaneously checking the same sites on my phone. I’m sure I’m not alone on this but I feel that it shows how intertwined our lives are with social media.

I’ve overheard so many comments similar to, “We’re Facebook friends.” or “I saw this thing on Pinterest…” or “Which filter should I use?” or “I’m tweeting this, what’s a good hashtag to use?” If we went back 15 years, people wouldn’t even know what we’re talking about! But nowadays, if you don’t have at least a basic knowledge about these avenues of communication, it might appear to others that you live under a rock.
