Lamination
Lamination adds a layer of protective coating (normally a type of plastic), either glossy or matte, to the surface of your printed piece while also improving its sturdiness and water resistance. Lamination also has the added benefit of improving the tactile feel of the printed surface by giving it a smooth finish. This bindery option can help your project stand out.

A high gloss laminate applied to a printed surface will cause photos and images to have improved sharpness and contrast, while a matte laminate will enhance the piece with a very luxurious and elegant finish to the printed surface.

While lamination tends to be one of the more expensive print finishes, it allows you to go high-end with your direct mail pieces that will use the sense of touch to separate your piece from all the others. In addition, most lamination comes with UV inhibitors to help protect your image from ultraviolet light and discoloring.
Folding
Folding can be a critical component of printing and binding services. It affects all sales and marketing literature readability as well as effecting the impact of broadcasting a strong message by the way it unfolds in a recipient’s hands. The effectiveness of many sales brochures are directly linked to how the brochure design is projected as it unfolds. Likewise, the overall cost of the brochure is governed by its folding patterns.

While determining the best way to fold a job might not be at the top of your priority list, it is critical to the planning process and can mean the difference between a beautifully finished piece or one that is flawed, cracked and unprofessional in appearance.
Die Cutting

Die cutting lets you create a limitless range of contours – from unconventional corners to perfect circles to the outline of an image or logo. A die cut provides a tactile and visual edge to distinguish your piece. Contact us to see samples and learn more about customer die cutting.

Foil Stamping

A heated die fuses a special foil onto the paper, bonding the design to the surface. Hot foil stamping adds shimmer and texture to highlight specific text or images. Gold, silver, and other solid metallic colors can be used, as well as clear and holographic foils. They can also be used to accent the 4-color or other images. Embossing

Embossing uses a specially-made die under high pressure to form a raised three-dimensional impression that allows you to literally feel the design. It is a graceful effect that brings a touch of class to your piece. Embossing can be used on its own or in combination with 4-color printing or foil stamping. Embossing and Foil Stamping

This process combines the use of embossing and foil stamping to create a truly unique finished product. A heated die fuses the foil onto the paper, bonding the design to the surface. The same area is then embossed with a die to create the raised three-dimensional image. Contact us to see samples and learn more about embossing and foil stamping.

Book Binding

If you are printing a booklet, book, or multi-page report it’s critical to plan how you will put together the finished product before you set up your document in your page layout program. We will help you choose from several binding methods, each with its own pros and cons depending on the final use of your project, the need for durability, best appearance, and cost.

For some types of binding it might simply be a matter of ensuring that the margins are wide enough to accommodate the holes for a three ring binder or a spiral binding element. For saddle-stitching, you may need to compensate for creep, depending on the thickness of your stock and the total number of pages. Some bindings provide improved durability while others will allow your book to lie flat when open. Regardless of whether your project includes a 400 page hard-bound book, a 12 page budget report, or anywhere in between, we can provide the prefect binding solution to fit your project.
